Introducing the PolNet © ACP

A dedicated phone line for each data peripheral used at a remote location can cost your MIS network thousands of dollars a year in line charges.

Multiply that by the number of locations in your far flung enterprise and what have you got? An antiquated means of gathering remote-site data that saps the budget dollars right out of your MIS department.

The PolNet © ACP Voice/Data Processors alleviate network dependency on dedicated lines by expanding any existing voice line to accommodate up to 4 extra devices. That's a total of five communications devices sharing one phone line - efficiently and effectively.

You are using multiple types of data equipment at multiple locations in your polling network and you're paying multiple phone line charges...until now.

Not Just Savings...Security.

The first thing you want in a voice/data processor is quick access to the right data equipment - every time. The last thing you want is anyone accessing your equipment - any time.

That's why our PolNet © ACP's are engineered with programmable security access codes to each device port. Up to seven characters long, the security access codes keep unwanted callers from accessing proprietary equipment and information. And it's a sure bet you won't get "hacked" there are over 35 million combinations to chose from.

Reliable and Compatible.

We're sure you have heard that before. But we guarantee it. The PolNet © ACP-3, ACP-5 and ACP-9 are made to the strictest industry standards. We guarantee they work on any type of phone line line or phone system - anywhere.

We also guarantee our ACP's will process calls to any type of data equipment that requires a phone line to function. Any type of modem - regardless of speed, throughput or standard, and type of data terminal - credit card authorization machines, money order terminals, Underground Storage Tank monitoring systems and even alarm/energy control systems.

Standard PolNet © Features

3 Models. Available in a 3 port, 5 port and 9 port model. (3 to 9 devices on one line)
Fully Programmable. All functions and features are programmable via the telephone keypad. No dip switches or push buttons.
Remote Diagnostics and Programming lets your central MIS Operations reprogram and troubleshoot the remote location ACP in a single phone call.
Caller ID Compatible. The ACP will let Caller ID data to be transmitted through the phone line to a Caller ID display before answering the call.
Phone Line Isolation/Barge-In feature gives you the option of being able to protect or access the phone line during an outgoing or incoming phone call. Calls can be interrupted by either dialing a programmed number of digits or programming the amount of time a receiver has to be off-hook. With both barge-in feature values programmed at "0", the ACP will not allow access to the phone line until the current call is finished. A "busy signal" can be enabled which alerts users to the line status.
Dual Surge Line Protection. Protects your valuable data and telephone equipment from harmful transient voltage coming through the phone line and ACP 110V (or 220V for Europe) power cord. We do recommend using industrial surge protectors on the 110V or 220V outlets before all data equipment.
RJ-31X Interface lets the ACP be connected and disconnected from the phone line without interruption of service.
Manual Transfer Capability. A call can be transferred between data/voice equipment at any time during a call by entering the proper security access code.
Night Watch Mode. A programmable feature that routes unanswered after-hours calls to a predetermined device automatically. Useful for routing manual fax transmissions to fax machines or routing data calls to data equipment without the need for security access codes. Routing is optional to two different ports.
Fax Tone Detect is a feature that enables the ACP to detect CNG (CalliNG) tones from incoming auto-fax call and route it to a predetermined device port.
Additional Detect Time. Normally, after an ACP "answers" the line, it monitors the call for six seconds to detect tones and security access codes. The Additional Detect Time feature, when enabled adds six more seconds to the monitoring period.
Protected Hook Flash is a feature that lets the ACP be utilized with multi-line Key systems that do not generate DTMF tones on an inbound call. With Protected Hook Flash "on". manual transfers can be accomplished.
Multi-Port Polling Function. The ACP can be programmed to seize the phone line after a data transmission has finished through one port and monitor the call for additional security access codes, which route the call to the next port.

A Word About Cost...
When considering PolNet © ACP's for use in your remote location, it may be wise to first consider the cost of operating with out them. Below is a chart outlining the cost of adding two dedicated data phone lines per remote location in a 100-unit retail chain. The cost savings have been extended from one to three and five years.

# of lines $ per line Monthly $ per Location Yearly $ per Location Yearly $ per 100 Locations 3 Year $ per 100 Locations 5 Year $ per 100 Locations
2 $ 30 $ 60 $ 720 $ 72,000 $ 216,000 $ 360,000
2 $ 40 $ 80 $ 960 $ 96,000 $ 288,000 $ 480,000

2 $ 80 $ 160 $ 1920 $ 192,000 $ 576,000 $ 960,000

Hopefully we have enlightened you, but numbers don't lie. Communicating, either with a phone or a modem-driven device is expensive (and we didn't even include the cost of having the lines installed by the phone company).

With Pol-net, you can reduce fixed costs by these amounts thus put this amount toward your bottom line. It makes sense to use Polnet. Order online today or email rhiggins@faxswitch.com with you questions. We look forward to serving you.
