with all "distinctive ring" services offered in the US and Canada is guaranteed.
All calls will be automatically routed with no switches to reset or codes
to dial in. Our "Surge Protection"
feature provides added protection from lightning strikes and voltage surges
that could damage your sensitive communications equipment. This feature
minimizes damage by "clamping" these surges and routing them away through
the ground in the SR power supply. The "Surge Protection" feature works
with the protective equipment supplied by your telephone company, providing
an extra layer of protection to your equipment. With our "Barge
In" option feature, you are assured privacy and protection when utilizing
the line for voice or data communications. For example, when the phone
line is accessed by your FAX or MODEM and "Barge In" protection is on,
the other phones will receive a busy signal when the receiver is lifted.
Data transmission protection is a must when a FAX or a MODEM is
used. Similarly, data devices will not be able to disrupt voice calls
either. With "Barge In" protection off, a call can be accessed from any
phone device on your system. Whatever your configuration, our "Barge In"
option ensures trouble free use. Included on both models. The power indicator
light tells you when your SR Call Processor is operational. When the light
is off, due to a power outage, the unit will no longer direct calls but
your phone service will be maintained. Both SR models
are compatible with tone or pulse dialing phone systems. They are also
compatible with FAX, MODEMS, answering and dictating machines. Any office
equipment device that can be hooked up to a telephone line will work with
the SR Call Processor. Also the SR Call Processors will not interfere
with the call packages offered by your area phone companies. Our attractively
designed cabinet comes in two colors, jet black and bone. Each unit includes

DESCRIPTION
Automatically route your distinctive ring calls to the phone(s), fax, answering machine, modem or any device(s) you designate
with either product from Multi-Link's SR™ Selective Ring Call
Processor Series of distinctive ring auto call processors.
The SR distinctive ring router is a passive line sharing device that routes incoming phone calls based on the distinctive ring* service provided from your local telephone company. The SR 2 routes up to two numbers and the SR 3 handles either two or three numbers per line. It works with all your phone company services including call waiting, voice mail, call forwarding, and TTY/TDD.
By eliminating the need for a second or third phone line, The SR and distinctive ring save you $20 a month or more per line depending on your local phone company's rates. The savings add up very quickly.
*(The distinctive ring service goes by different names depending on your local phone company: RingMate, Custom Ringing, Smart Ring, Ring Master, Personalized
Ringing, Multi-Ring, MultiRing, Teen Ring, IndentaRing, etc.)
Once installed on your home or office telephone line, the SR Call Processor "listens" to incoming call voltages to determine the phone number associated with the ring pattern. Then, like an invisible secretary it routes the call to the correct device.
I highly recommend our SR Series Distinctive Ring . The SR routes calls by the distinctive ring service that you subscribe to from your phone company instead of tones. Unlike anything else on the market, the SR never answers your calls since it uses the voltages from your local phone company's "distinctive ring " instead of the ringing patterns like other products do so it will work with the phone company answering service and usually even with call forwarding.
For example, if you want your regular number for voice and your distinctive ring number for fax calls then it does just that. Voice calls ring your phones like normal and when someone calls your distinctive number it goes to the fax device (fax machine, fax modem, fax server or fax printer).
The SR series is great for separating business from personal calls, fax from voice calls, TDD from voice calls, etc...It can turn your answering machine into a distinctive ring answering machine. Your fax number rings the fax, your voice number rings your phones, etc...on a SINGLE phone line.
As long as you can plug in a standard phone and make and receive a call, the SR will work. It never answers the phone line to screen but routes to the appropriate port based on the voltages of signature ring pattern for each phone number assigned to a single phone line.
The primary phone number routes to port one, secondary number to port two, etc. "Smartware" technology eliminates any user programming by automatically learning the ring cadence. Operation is totally automatic.
The barge-in protection feature is optional. You can turn it on or off with a switch on the front of the unit.
Outbound calls are processed in the normal fashion.
This type of product uses the distinctive ring service from your local phone company to route the calls. This service is offered by local phone companies under different names but basically it allows you to have more than one phone number (up to three) on a single line.
They sell it for mom and dad and the teenagers. Mom and Dad get the old phone number and that number rings like always. The kids get a new phone number and their calls ring with a double ring. Grandma gets a third number and her's has a triple ring. Mom answers the normal ring. The kids answer the double ring. And grandma answers the triple ring. Our box takes this one stage further and routes the calls to the proper device so in our example...mom and dad's calls ring on their phones. The kid's number rings on their phones in their rooms. And grandma's number rings in her room.
In a business application, you have one phone number for business calls, another for personal calls and another for your fax number. The service cost from $3.00 to $5.00 a month for your extra numbers from your local phone company. They just add it to your bill like call waiting or any other features you may have. Outgoing calls will go out on any device. If the line is busy, again you would not be able to barge-in on the call (unless barge-in protection is turned off) and you would hear a busy signal so you know the phone is in use. Incoming calls would hear a busy signal like normal if the line is busy.
All you do is plug it in and then call each one of your phone numbers from a different phone (from your cell phone or have a friend or relative call each of them for you.) It takes a few seconds for the SR to learn your voltages the first time but after that it will transfer the calls to the proper device.
The SR2 is designed for the usual two distinctive ring services offered
by most phone companies. The SR3 distinctive ring device can process three separate distinctive
rings as offered in some enhanced phone services. Both the SR2 and SR3 offer
a barge-in protection function.
All SR products feature the Smartware™ embedded software that "learns" your phone company's specific distinctive ring patterns.
